The tragic events in Ukraine mean many of our students are experiencing financial hardship without access to the family support that they previously relied upon – on top of already severe anxiety over the safety of their loved ones.
We have several hundred students from the region, and as a University we will do whatever we can to support affected members of our community. The Student Hardship Fund is awarding emergency grants to cover the costs of accommodation or other essential day-to-day expenditure.
The Alumni Fund has already contributed £7,000 to the appeal but it is clear that this need for significant financial support will continue into the summer and beyond. Donations to this appeal will ensure we can respond appropriately to this terrible conflict.
