£75,000 raised for Bath students in need!
We’re excited to share that we’ve now reached this key milestone – all thanks to your support.
We’d like to thank our alumni and friends for your generous response, helping our students at this uncertain time. The success of this appeal means we’ll be able to help more of those in need with emergency grants.
We extend a special thanks to Santander Universities, whose donation, announced today, has lifted us over our initial target. Nicholas Davies, Deputy Relationship Director, says:
“The University of Bath is doing fantastic work in supporting students in hardship and we’re delighted to have the opportunity to support the student community during this critical time.”
Your donations are having a real impact, as one recent recipient of a Hardship Fund grant explains:
“I applied to the Hardship Fund because of all the financial stress generated by the Covid-19 pandemic and its repercussions on my family’s situation. Obtaining this help represented a big relief for me as a student. I am beyond thankful for the help and sincerely hope to reciprocate to the Fund in the future.”
TWO WEEKS AGO WE LAUNCHED OUR HARDSHIP FUND APPEAL FOR BATH STUDENTS IN NEED.
There's been an amazing response so far - thank you again for your generous support.
Recent recipients of the Student Hardship Fund have spoken about the difference that support from alumni has made to them:
“The grant meant that I was able to focus fully on my studies. In doing so, I was able to get enough sleep, afford nutritious food, catch up on university work and ultimately relieve a huge amount of stress in all areas of my life.”
“There were points when I wanted to drop out of university in fear of not being able to make ends meet – the difference the Student Hardship Fund made to me was honestly the difference between having a degree and dropping out halfway through.”
"The grant helped me to survive and pay for my bills and food. My sincere thanks go out to the alumni who donated to the Student Hardship Fund, without which I really don't know what I'd have done.”
Thank you again for your part in helping Bath students facing serious financial hardship at this time. Please help us by sharing this page with friends and family so we can reach as many people as possible.

We’d like to share our heartfelt thanks for your contributions within the first week of our appeal and for your part in getting it off to such a great start.
We extend a special thank you to Bath alumnus Peter Harrison (CEO of Schroders; BSc Business Administration 1988) for his generous gift in support of the Appeal, matching the first £25,000 raised.
“As a proud alumnus of this great University, it is my pleasure to contribute to this vital appeal,” he explains. “Through no fault of their own, many Bath students now face serious financial hardship. They deserve the means and security to continue to learn and invest in their futures.”
Please do continue to spread the word if you can – with your help, we can directly support more Bath students facing serious financial hardship over the coming months.
